AGSA Bursary 2026 for South African Tertiary Students
Bursary Description
The African Global Skills Academy (AGSA), in collaboration with Solarpop, invites eligible South African tertiary students to submit applications for the AGSA Bursary Programme for the 2026 academic year. AGSA is dedicated to empowering youth through education and practical skills development, enabling students to overcome financial barriers and successfully complete their higher education qualifications.
This critical funding initiative is specifically designed to alleviate the burden of accumulated debt by covering outstanding student fees. By targeting student fee shortfalls across accredited South African institutions, the academy ensures that deserving candidates can focus entirely on their academic performance and graduation without the threat of financial exclusion.
What the Bursary Covers
The AGSA Bursary Programme provides focused financial assistance aimed at debt relief and tuition resolution:
Coverage of verified outstanding tuition and academic fees for the 2026 academic year.
Direct settlement of debt balances with accredited higher education institutions.
Who Should Apply
This bursary opportunity is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in any academic discipline at a recognised and accredited South African university or university of technology. Applicants must be South African citizens aged between 18 and 35 who belong to designated demographic groups (African, Coloured, or Indian) and hold an active, verified outstanding fee balance for the current academic year. Students living with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Why This Bursary Stands Out
Unlike many standard bursary programmes that restrict funding strictly to specific STEM or commercial fields, the AGSA Bursary Programme supports students across all academic disciplines. By specifically targeting historical and outstanding debt for currently registered students, it acts as an essential financial lifeline, clearing administrative blocks and unlocking transcripts and graduation pathways for future professionals.
