Applicants must demonstrate strong academic performance, a clear motivation for their chosen field of study, and a need for financial assistance. Specific requirements vary slightly for matriculants, current tertiary students, and gap-year students, with documentation needed to prove academic history, financial status, and acceptance into an accredited institution.

Applicants are required to submit a comprehensive set of documents, including certified copies of identity documents, academic reports, proof of household income, and personal statements. The bursary is particularly interested in students who can articulate their career aspirations and how their chosen field will enable them to contribute to South Africa. Financial need is a key consideration, with applicants required to provide detailed proof of their household income and any existing funding they may have received.

This bursary is distinguished by its thorough application process, which seeks to identify well-rounded individuals with strong potential. The emphasis on personal statements and letters of recommendation ensures that candidates with passion, drive, and a clear vision for their future are recognized. By supporting students through their tertiary education, Coronation Fund Managers invests in the next generation of leaders and professionals, contributing to a more skilled and capable South African workforce.
