Bursary Description
Implats is proud to announce its Bursary Programme for the 2027 academic year, offering a significant opportunity for academically gifted Matric learners to pursue degree qualifications in critical engineering and science fields. This programme is a testament to Implats' commitment to developing future talent and contributing to the skills base required for the mining and related industries in South Africa. The bursary aims to alleviate the financial burden of tertiary education, enabling students to focus on their studies and achieve their full academic potential. Implats provides a supportive framework for its bursars, ensuring they are well-prepared for successful careers upon graduation.
Selection Process
The selection process for the Implats Bursary Programme is rigorous and designed to identify the most promising candidates. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted directly and will be required to complete various assessments. These assessments may include aptitude tests, psychometric evaluations, and interviews, all aimed at evaluating a candidate's potential, problem-solving abilities, and alignment with Implats' values. Applicants who do not receive feedback within 30 days after the application deadline should consider their application unsuccessful. This structured approach ensures fairness and identifies individuals who are best suited to thrive in demanding academic and professional environments.
Required Documents
To ensure a complete and valid application, applicants must submit clear copies of the following supporting documents: a certified copy of their ID document, their Grade 11 final results, a conditional acceptance letter from a recognized tertiary institution (if available), a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae, and proof of residence, such as parents’ municipality account or a bank letter. It is absolutely crucial that applicants ensure all required documents are submitted accurately and completely. Any missing documents may unfortunately lead to the disqualification of the application, so meticulous attention to detail is paramount.
Important Notes
Applicants must adhere strictly to the application deadline to be considered for the bursary. It is essential that all applicants meet the specified minimum academic requirements for English, Physical Science, and Mathematics in Grade 11. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further stages of the selection process. Applicants should be prepared to complete various assessments as part of the selection process, which are designed to evaluate their suitability for the programme. Incomplete applications will be disqualified, underscoring the importance of a thorough submission.
