Position Purpose

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a diverse range of auto-electrical systems within Transnet's heavy-duty vehicles, cranes, and port equipment, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and safety standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.
• Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. This includes proper handling of tools, equipment, and hazardous materials.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, conducting regular inspections and calibrations to ensure accuracy and longevity, and reporting any defects or necessary replacements.
• Document work performed meticulously, including fault findings, repairs undertaken, parts used, and time spent, and report findings accurately to supervisors for record-keeping and operational planning.
• Collaborate effectively with other technical teams and operational staff to ensure seamless workflow and timely completion of maintenance tasks, contributing to the overall productivity of the port terminals.
• Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge by actively participating in training sessions and staying updated with the latest advancements in auto-electrical technology and industry best practices.
