Job Description
The Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ) invites qualifying, dynamic, and unemployed South African graduates to apply for its 24-month Graduate Internship Programme for the 2026/2027 financial year. This national initiative is designed to provide young professionals with meaningful practical workplace exposure, skill enhancement, and professional development across various administrative, legal, and operational divisions within South Africa's judicial branch.
Successful candidates will receive structured mentorship, hands-on public sector experience, and a monthly stipend of R8,174.75 across multiple divisions including Finance, Asset Management, Human Resources, Legal Administration, Risk Management, and Court Administration.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the day-to-day administrative, operational, and support functions of the allocated department or court division.
Support document management, record tracking, registry operations, and data verification in compliance with public service regulations.
Conduct research, draft routine correspondence, and prepare internal reports under the guidance of senior judicial and administrative staff.
Assist in processing financial transactions, asset verification, employee wellness support, or legal documentation depending on the field of study.
Participate actively in learning interventions, compliance reviews, and departmental projects.

Requirements
Must be an unemployed South African citizen.
Must possess a relevant National Diploma, Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 6/7), or LLB Degree (NQF Level 8) in Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, HRM, Industrial Psychology, Public Administration, Office Management, Social Science, Risk Management, or Law.
Must have never participated in any previous government or formal internship programme.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
High level of integrity, professional ethics, and confidentiality.
