Key Responsibilities
Editorial Curation & Newsletter Writing: Apply strong news judgment to curate, summarize, and frame daily South African current affairs for engaged newsletter subscribers.
Email Publishing & CMS Management: Build and format responsive daily newsletters using professional Email Service Providers (ESPs) and content management tools.
Live Event & Webinar Production: Assist in planning, setting up, and coordinating live journalism webinars, speaker panels, technical dry runs, and public events.
Speaker & Logistics Coordination: Liaise professionally with high-profile guest speakers, panelists, suppliers, and venue partners to manage technical and operational requirements.
Audience Engagement & Marketing: Deploy promotional assets across newsletters and social platforms, monitor attendance data, and interact with the reader community during live broadcasts.
Quality Control & Copy Editing: Perform rigorous proofreading and fact-checking to ensure adherence to Daily Maverick’s high editorial standards and style guides.

Requirements
A Degree, National Diploma, or final-year status in Journalism, Media Studies, English, Communications, Event Management, Marketing, or a related discipline.
