The Maintenance Operator Gr 2 Mechanical at Sasol plays a crucial role in supporting the maintenance and operation of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems and equipment. This position is integral to ensuring optimal productivity and operational efficiency within Sasol's facilities, specifically at Sasolburg & Natref Ops. The incumbent will be responsible for accurately and efficiently collecting field data, assisting skilled artisans, and ensuring the safe and correct use of tools and equipment. Key Accountabilities
- Assist, support, and accompany artisans to ensure the safe execution of maintenance tasks, learning from experienced professionals.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all work areas, ensuring a clean and organized environment for safety and efficiency.
- Ensure that all tools are correctly packed, accounted for, and stored in safe and well-controlled areas, promoting tool longevity and accessibility.
- Operate hand tools and other workshop equipment safely and correctly, adhering to all operational guidelines and safety protocols.
- Prepare and arrange the necessary tools and equipment required to execute various tasks as instructed by the artisan, facilitating smooth workflow.
- Provide assistance with the installation and removal of machine components, gaining practical experience in mechanical assembly and disassembly.
- Identify and ensure the correct type of oil or lubricant is used for services, contributing to the proper functioning and longevity of machinery.
- Drive and deliver samples as and when required, supporting operational processes and quality control efforts.
