The Cross Border Road Transport Agency (C-BRTA) invites energetic, driven, and ambitious graduates to apply for the Receptionist / Contact Centre Internship programme based in Pretoria. In this dynamic entry-level opportunity, the successful candidate will gain extensive practical training across front-of-house operations, corporate switchboard management, and contact centre administration. Working directly within a supportive and performance-driven administrative department, the intern will be mentored by seasoned professionals to develop critical communication, client management, dispute resolution, and administrative coordination skills essential for a long-term corporate career.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Visitor Management: Warmly welcome, screen, and direct visitors, clients, and cross-border transport stakeholders to the appropriate personnel and departments in a professional manner.
Switchboard & Inbound Call Handling: Answer, screen, and route high volumes of incoming telephone calls efficiently, adhering strictly to telephone etiquette and organizational standards.
Customer Service & Enquiry Resolution: Attend to customer and stakeholder queries across telephonic, email, and walk-in channels, ensuring timely and accurate information delivery.
Administrative Support: Maintain switchboard logs, document incoming and outgoing courier packages, handle correspondence, and assist the broader administration team with document filing and data capturing.
Meeting & Boardroom Coordination: Assist with boardroom bookings, setup for meetings, audio-visual readiness, and hospitality arrangements for internal and external meetings.
Reception Area Maintenance: Ensure that the reception, waiting area, and front-desk environment remain clean, orderly, organized, and aligned with corporate safety and aesthetic protocols.
Continuous Learning & Development: Actively participate in assigned mentorship programmes, rotational assignments, and administrative development initiatives.

Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Office Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Customer Service, Contact Centre Management, or a related field.
Proficiency in computer literacy, specifically Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English with excellent telephone etiquette.
Strong customer-centric mindset with active listening and interpersonal skills.
Basic understanding of document management, office coordination, and record keeping.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and handle pressure effectively.
South African citizen with a clean criminal record and no prior participation in an equivalent internship programme.
