Job Description
A Shutdown Planner at Sasol is a critical role responsible for the meticulous planning and coordination of complex shutdown and turnaround projects within the company's operational facilities. This position involves developing detailed schedules, managing resources, and ensuring all activities are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget. The planner works closely with various departments, including maintenance, engineering, and operations, to integrate all aspects of a shutdown, from initial scope definition to post-shutdown review. This role demands exceptional organizational skills, a strong understanding of industrial processes, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring that all shutdown requirements are delivered against strict deadlines, minimizing operational disruption and maximizing asset availability. They will apply evidence-based SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) practices in alignment with set standards for safe operations, implementing Sasol Group's risk philosophy and enterprise risk management framework. Building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders is crucial for achieving operational excellence. Furthermore, the planner is expected to continuously improve their own skills and knowledge, completing, implementing, and tracking a personal development plan to attain performance goals and contribute to the overall success of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive shutdown plans, including scope, schedule, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure seamless integration of all shutdown activities.
- Monitor progress against the plan, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure all shutdown requirements are delivered against deadlines.
- Apply evidence-based SHE practices in alignment with set standards for safe operations.
- Implement Sasol Group's risk philosophy and enterprise risk management framework.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable operational excellence.
- Continuously improve own skills and knowledge, completing and tracking personal development plans.
