Overview
Brights Hardware is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Driver Intern to join their Deliveries Department. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and punctual delivery of goods to customers, maintaining the company's reputation for excellent service. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of delivery vehicles, efficient route planning, and upholding high standards of customer interaction. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in logistics and customer service within the retail sector, contributing to the company's growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
Complete daily trip sheets, including opening/closing kilometers, departure, and arrival times.
Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any defects.
Ensure truck assistants remain with the truck at all times.
Plan and execute the most efficient routes to customer destinations.
Verify that all outgoing stock has the relevant documentation before loading.
Record all transferred documents in the logbook and ensure it is signed by the receiving branch.
Ensure all stock is delivered in excellent condition.
Submit weekly evaluation reports to the Supervisor.
Report any delays at branches or issues to the Supervisor promptly.
Report to the Supervisor at the end of each day.
Participate in perpetual stock takes as required.
Perform any other work-related tasks delegated by the superior.

Requirements
Matric or x3 Completed Intercept courses equating to a total of 120 credits.
Candidates with no Matric but a valid license and 3 years of driving experience will be considered.
Code 10 Driver's Licence (a higher code is advantageous).
PDP (Public Driving Permit: Goods and Passengers).
Minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
Ability to handle pressure.
Strong monitoring skills.
Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
Ability to read and communicate on a high level.
Must be able to understand vehicle loading procedures.
Excellent planning, time management, and organizing skills.
