Information Management Officer at Western Cape Government

The Western Cape Government Department of Social Development is seeking a dedicated and competent Information Management Officer to join the Metro North regional office. This role plays a critical operational part in overseeing regional information systems, ensuring that social development services are backed by sound data, robust reporting structures, and efficient technology coordination across local service delivery points.

As an Information Management Officer, you will serve as a key resource in managing, analysing, and presenting both financial and non-financial data for regional leadership. Working within a structured provincial public service framework, you will help maintain data integrity, support regional information communication technology requirements, and streamline knowledge management practices that directly enhance public service delivery to communities in the Metro North region.

Key Responsibilities & Core Duties

• Develop, maintain, and monitor regional information management systems to ensure data accuracy and timely reporting.
• Coordinate regional Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services and facilitate operational hardware and software support.
• Analyse, synthesize, and present business management information, including operational performance metrics and non-financial data (NFD).
• Identify, roll out, and maintain knowledge management repositories and regional information documentation standards.
• Support regional monitoring and review processes in alignment with provincial public service directives and line-function guidelines.
• Liaise with internal departmental units and regional stakeholders to resolve information flow bottlenecks and optimize reporting workflows.

• Appropriate qualification at NQF level 6 (National Diploma or equivalent) or higher.
