Maintenance Operator Grade 2 Mechanical at Sasol

Sasol is currently seeking a dedicated Maintenance Operator Grade 2 Mechanical to join the OPP Secunda Operations team. In this operational role, you will provide vital mechanical maintenance support to ensure plant equipment stability, operational reliability, and adherence to rigorous petrochemical engineering codes. As an integral team member, your primary contribution involves working closely with experienced artisans, technicians, and maintenance planners to execute scheduled servicing, proactive inspections, and swift plant breakdown interventions. Key Responsibilities & Core Duties

• Execute planned mechanical maintenance tasks and basic equipment repairs in strict compliance with standard operating procedures.
• Participate actively in daily morning production meetings, shift handover sessions, and safety toolbox talks.
• Conduct structured plant inspections and IMS checks to identify early warning signs of equipment wear, vibration, or mechanical failure.
• Assist during root cause analyses (RCA) and plant deviation assessments (PDA) to eliminate recurring equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and adhere to environmental waste management and disposal regulations.
• Provide detailed shift feedback and report critical job completion history to supervisors to optimize spare parts usage and equipment uptime.
