Pharmacist Assistant Opportunity at Dis-Chem (Multiple Locations)

Responsibilities & Core Duties

• Assist in the dispensing, compounding, manipulation, and repackaging of non-sterile medicines according to Standard Operating Procedures approved by the responsible pharmacist.
• Facilitate the sale, distribution, and stock control of Schedule 1 through Schedule 5 medicines in strict compliance with South African Pharmacy Council regulations.
• Accurately capture, verify, and validate patient medical aid details and prescription scripts on the dispensary system.
• Ensure precision during picking, packing, labeling, and final pharmacist-checking stages of daily medication dispensing.
• Provide clear, compassionate advice and product information to patients at the dispensary and self-medication counter.
• Monitor and manage stock rotation, check expiration dates, and follow up on patient repeat prescription tracking schedules.
