Production Assistant: Tunnel Team at Babylonstoren

Babylonstoren is looking for a proactive and experienced Production Assistant to join the Tunnel Team on a seasonal contract spanning November 2026 to February 2027. Known globally for its regenerative farming practices, the estate cultivates an extraordinary array of seasonal produce, berries, herbs, and vegetables nurtured in climate-controlled growing tunnels.

In this agricultural production role, you will work side-by-side with experienced horticulturists and tunnel specialists. You will take part in every phase of the cultivation cycle, ensuring optimal plant nutrition, executing trellis training, operating farm machinery, and harvesting premium produce destined for the farm's farm-to-fork restaurants and markets.

Key Responsibilities & Core Duties

• Execute daily harvesting of fresh greenhouse fruits, salad greens, and vegetables according to strict ripeness and handling benchmarks.
• Conduct essential horticultural care including planting, trellising, de-suckering, and selective pruning of growing tunnel crops.
• Apply plant nutrition and targeted biological crop protection products under direction, strictly following farm safety protocols.
• Operate agricultural tractors safely across the farm grounds to transport equipment, organic matter, and gathered harvests.
• Perform daily greenhouse maintenance, monitoring irrigation drip lines and structural integrity to maintain elite tunnel conditions.
• Keep meticulous documentation of daily yield logs, biological spray applications, and tunnel climate metrics.
