Quality Assurance & Quality Control Vacancy at Sasol

Sasol is recruiting for six Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) professionals to join its technical team in Secunda, Mpumalanga. As an integrated global energy and chemicals organization, Sasol relies on rigorous quality assurance protocols to maintain world-class safety, environmental compliance, and plant reliability across its extensive operational assets.

In this position, you will be directly involved in executing quality inspections, vendor audits, and technical verifications across maintenance and capital projects. Working closely with engineering personnel and contractor teams, you will enforce strict quality control standards, verify site quantities, and safeguard the structural and mechanical integrity of plant infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities & Core Duties

• Formulate, review, and execute Quality Control Plans (QCPs) and detailed technical inspection item lists.
• Carry out rigorous site audits and inspections on Access, Insulation, and Protective Coatings (AIP) applications.
• Verify compliance of technical deliverables with approved engineering designs, client standards, and safety specifications.
• Identify and record non-conformances, working with construction teams to implement robust corrective action plans.
• Measure and audit physical site quantities to facilitate precise and transparent service provider billing.
• Participate in pre-work hazard reviews and root cause failure analysis from a quality assurance perspective.

Estimated Salary Range (Market Benchmark)

Based on South African market data and industry benchmarks for a quality assurance and control practitioner role, the estimated remuneration is approximately R15,000 – R30,000 per month. • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification with Mathematics and Physical Science.

• Minimum of 2 years of industrial quality control or plant operations experience.
• NACE AMPP CIP Level 1 or ICORR Level 1 Coating Inspector certification is advantageous.
